Also check out Application Compatibility Toolkit (ACT)
It contains the necessary tools and documentation to evaluate and mitigate application compatibility issues before deploying Windows 7, Windows Vista®, a Windows Update, or a new version of Windows® Internet Explorer® in your environment.

The only issue I have with Windows 7 is the messenger seems to want to be in the task bar even after you close it out. I found a way to get around it now, but it has been annoying for the last month. Other than that I prefer it over XP and definately over Vista!

Ive got to ask. is it worth buying windows 7 now if im still content with xp. My only hang up on xp is not being able to "officially" support dx10 or 11. I run xp and xp64. I know ill take flak for this but when windows vista launched i was working for geek squad. yeah yeah monkeys in ties could do better than most geek agents. With vista i saw this buggy monstrous slow unstable virus magnet and i could not justify dealing with it just to get something that looks pretty when it works. Now I have not even seen windows 7 let alone tried to use it. I'd like to try it before buying. And i'd like to get the "ultimate" package without having to pawn everything i own. any suggestions on where to see a demo?

There was a beta release of Windows 7 few months back which many of use had tried it and was very satisfied with the result. I would suggest to check out with some friends who do have Windows 7. I will try to figure if there is a online demo of Windows 7 which you can try before you buy it.
