From existing owners, would you kindly share your feedback on using your respective gaming stations?

The experience can be categorized by:

1. Which gaming station are you using

2. Availability of the anticipated game for your gaming station – easy / not easy (meaning those games you are looking for are released for the other one)

3. The graphics detail – fair (connected via composite)/ good (via component) / great ( via hdmi) / doubtful (i have seen better, can be my tv or this game station is not doing its job)
[Black, white, contrast all matters - this what makes the movie/game title entertaining to own. your feedback is appreciated]

4. Software or hardware problems – few/ medium/ a lot – please share what you had faced?
5. Problem resolution – easy / not easy

6. Networking experience – fair/ good
7. Tips on how to over come network speed problems?

8. Happy with the game controller?

9. Your over feedback on using the gaming station

10. Speed response of the games played. – noted delays/ smooth but can notice frames when in thick of heavy graphics/ works well.

=====
Bit skeptic on making a purchase. I’m a pc gamer and very good at playing with mouse and keyboard.

Lately I want to separate work and games from the same machine. So considering a gaming station that is a pc replacement.

An update:

From market survey:

1. Xbox 360 is running graphics better than PS3′s technical good specs.
2. Couple of games are first released on the Xbox prior to PS3
3. People love the finish of PS3, even the menu/home screen. Xbox just recently adjusted their home screen but the box still looks like a toy
4. Yes, they love the BlueRay playback of the PS3
5. Most popular (10+) games for the PS3 are scoring average 7 (by 10) compared to the exclusive xbox titles, which means PS3 playing experience is better

I understand that games are easy to develop for the Xbox because MS does give good development support. As for the PS3 its game titles have changed considerably in terms of the kind of games available for this gaming station.

It sucks to know PS3 latest update removed the option to install Linux on it. It was a back stab unless there were no takers for such an option.

Sony has developed new interactive gadgets other than the default controller. A demo of those were shown and there is a lot more potential to what applications can come on the PS3.

So far from sales reports. Xbox has sold more units than the PS3. The point that i gleaned from the survey is: Users had better multi-player experience on the Xbox. People love playing with fellow humans than the AI. But on the other hand, the overall feedback for solo games, PS3 were a better experience(like point 5 mentioned above).

I do have an xbox 360 although it’s not the elite one. Been playing since the 1st generation (Xbox)

I have eyes on PS3 (slim) but the game is so xpensive (this one on my third must have list). Still saving money for my graphic card.

If you ask me, They both have their own +/-.
I like PC gaming better than console nowadays, But before that I am a playstation console fan (been following since PS1 Std). But I can give you my view on 360.

If you have played PS generation then you’ll have a hard time playing xbox generation. But hey, practice makes perfect.

Graphic, as long as you use hdtv / hdmi, it would be good for both. (well not as good as PC with mainstream upgrade)

For game? Hey what can I say… some game are exclusive on 360 and some on ps3. Just see which one gives you better offer.
Like Resident evil 5 gold edition in ps3 is better than 360. Why? Because in ps3 you get everything on disc(blueray), well xbox just give you download point to use in konami website to download the required dlc. So if you already buy a RE 5 in 360. You will waste money if you buy the gold edition one. It’s basically the same with addition of download point.

360 has a massive syndrome called RROD (Red Ring of Death). In some time, maybe 1 year or 2 you will catch it. And when you do, your 360 will be on a countdown to expire.
Fortunately mine is still alive and kicking.
Well Microsoft think their jasper board is cooler so they are less likely overheat. Well, we’ll see.

PS3… Hey it’s a bluray player…
360… Huh DVD player?…

Well as a gamer rule… Play what you want to play… Don’t let the machine control your thirst to play !!!

As advice, if you are into japan games… like
That said I recommend you buy PS3 for the sake of stability, broad range of game and a very deep pocket…( you’ll need it..)
You can buy XBOX 360 if you don’t mind the above and still looking for a good game to play and a good cash reserve… (Hey it’s still is a good console)

If I must choose, It’s PS3 first, 360 second and Wii Third.

Magus, i agree with you when you said: don’t let the machine control your thirst to play

thats the problem with the game titles. some fall on to one machine or the other.

but as you concluded, i’m getting closer to choosing the ps3 along with the new controllers

thanks for the input. It matches to what i was gathering and looking forward to.
